A Fresh Culinary Experience by the Canal
A new dining experience is coming to Findern, as renowned restaurateur Suraj Pathak expands his successful Indian tapas concept to Derbyshire. The new restaurant, Lagan Indian Tapas, will take over the site of Nadee, offering a unique small-plate dining experience by the Trent and Mersey Canal.
Who’s Behind It?
Suraj Pathak, known for his work at Anoki in Derby and his existing Lagan restaurants in Nottingham, is leading the project alongside his son, Raman Pathak. The family also operates fine dining restaurants, including Mewar Haveli in Northampton.
What to Expect
The menu will feature tapas-style Indian dining with small plates inspired by diverse Indian flavours. Scenic outdoor dining will be a highlight, with 80% of seating positioned by the waterfront. The restaurant will also host weekly live entertainment and BBQs, creating a lively atmosphere. The flexible dining approach offers everything from light bites to full meals, catering to different occasions.
Why Findern?
Suraj Pathak has long dreamed of opening a restaurant in Derbyshire. “Around 10% of our Nottingham customers already travel from Derby,” he said. “We’re confident that once people try the Lagan style of dining, they’ll love it.”
When Will It Open?
The restaurant is set to open in April following a full refurbishment of the existing site.
